When i install the application i get the following error.
An error occured during trrunck. Process performance counter is disabled.
I set the PPC to auto, i even tried to start it myself but it stops after a sec or 2.
When i try to run TR after the install i get an error stating: Teh application databse has been corrupted or deleted. TR needs to shutdown.
So i cant run it at all
The old version runs fine though.
Any suggestions? |

OK. I believe I know what caused that. And it's been fixed.
The problem is a known issue with detecting processes in .NET when you disable performance counters. Chances are that you used a Resource Kit tool called EXCTRLST.EXE to disable Performance counters for perfproc.dll (or did the registry hack yourself). I've just changed the code so that your app won't crash when/if this error happens, it'll just warn you that you should enable counters.
I will be posting a new Beta version soon, and this fix will be in it. For now, you can try re-enabling performance counters, and that should clear up the issue. I would completely uninstall the version of TR that wasn't working and then reinstall it (once you enable counters).

thanks.
the problem was that when i go to enable performance counters (i never disabled it) it says it can not start, or that it started and then stopped because it had nothing to do. so thanks for updating the app for me. |

hhhmmm... maybe there's another service (that perf counters depend on) that got disabled... I dunno.
I guess I won't add a warning message then... otherwise you'd get a message pop-up every time you start TaskRunner (I'm sure that would get annoying real quick ). I'll just trap the error until I can find a workaround for people who don't have perf counters enabled.
